Brentwood Newsletter
Mission Statement

The Brentwood Newsletter is a citizen committee working on a volunteer basis, to provide a communication service vital to the residents of Brentwood. Since 1977, the Brentwood Newsletter continues a tradition of communicating with its residents, by its residents, making it a unique community treasure.

Policy Statement

The Brentwood Newsletter (BNL) is an independent publication not affiliated with Brentwood town government. It is a dynamic volunteer group of residents who donate time and talent to bring you news of the town. What you read each month are the voices of your neighbors, friends, and residents of Brentwood.

The views shared in its publications should not be construed to be the official opinion of the BNL, nor reflect the official policy or position of the Town of Brentwood. Unless otherwise noted, the words you read are solely the opinions of the writer(s).

The BNL strives to publish eleven (11) issues each year.

All Brentwood residents may submit articles for any section of the BNL. Articles previously printed elsewhere may be refused. Readers will have an opportunity to respond to articles in the following issue. Responses may not be accepted beyond this timeframe.

Articles may be edited for space, grammar and punctuation, or objectionable language. Form letters, subscriptions, and personal attacks will be rejected.

Writers retain rights to their submissions, but sending them to the BNL allows use as the BNL deems fit. This includes, but is not limited to: emails, articles, news pieces, announcements, and photographs.

Articles, information and opinion submissions by town residents are always welcome.

All articles and submissions will run at the BNL’s discretion and as space is available. No position of articles within the BNL is guaranteed, nor that a submission will be published. Order of articles, formatting and display of any material is the responsibility of the layout volunteer.

The Newsletter will accept your opinions on topics of your choosing which are of interest and generally relevant to Brentwood residents. Upon review by our editorial review team, and at our sole discretion, the Newsletter will reject any content that is determined to be demonstrably false, a personal attack, obscene, or not relevant to residents of Brentwood. Rejection is not limited to items noted here, but we will reach out to writers to discuss ways in which submissions may be accepted.

The Brentwood Newsletter does not endorse, nor advocate for any political party, candidate for any office, or charitable organization.

The Brentwood Newsletter does not accept business write-ups, display ads, or business cards for political campaigns.

The Brentwood Newsletter does not accept endorsements for candidates of any elected office.

The Brentwood Newsletter will continue to focus the February issue on municipal elections, ballot questions, budget items, and Warrant Articles all pertinent specifically to the town of Brentwood.

The Brentwood Newsletter will only accept statements from candidates seeking NH State Representative and NH State Senator seats for the September issue if two or more candidates are in a contested primary race. Candidates in uncontested primary races, who will appear on the General Election ballot in November, may submit a statement for the October issue.

Statements from candidates seeking offices other than NH State Representative or NH State Senate will not be accepted for publication.

All candidate statements submitted for publication in the Brentwood Newsletter shall be written by the candidate and bear their name, shall refrain from naming any other opposing candidate or political party, and will be 300 words or less. All submissions must be in text format (no PDFs or images). If a submission does not meet these requirements, candidates will be contacted prior to publication.

NEWSLETTER DEADLINES: Submissions for the following month must be received by 9:00 am on the 15th.
